The Academies at Overton
"My Future, My Way"

         Career Academies are "schools-within-schools" organized around career themes. They integrate academic, career, and technical instruction to prepare students for post-secondary education and employment. Teachers and students integrate academic and occupation-related classes as a way to enhance real-world relevance and maintain high academic standards.
         Partnerships with local employers provide mentors, internships, and program planning guidance. Career academies place emphasis on building relationships between students and adults, both teachers and work-site supervisors.
