Diagnostic medicine creates a pic-ture of an individual’s health status at a single point in time. This could include careers as cardiology, im-aging, medical laboratory, radiogra-phy, nuclear medicine, speech pa-thologists, respiratory therapist, clinical laboratory technician, pa-thologists, medical doctor, plastic Surgeon, and others. |
This course will provide knowledge of ways to document an individual care in the home, hospital, long term care, outpatient, and others. Careers could include medical records, health management, risk management, unit coordinator, computer operator. social worker, patient advocate, hospital chaplain, clinical department director, community services specialist Computer Security Specialist, Data analyst, Epidemiologist, Health Writer, Medical Librarian, Medical Video Production and others. |
Students will complete a clinical internship as their culmi-nating course in their Diagnostic Medicine and Health Informatics, pathways. The internships are designed to be completed in a hospital, nursing home, rehab center, medical office, or other health care facility and their coursework and internship will be supervised by a Health Science Academy instructor. |
