| This elective course is designed to provide a balanced framework for developing leadership skills. Stu-dents in this course will have the op-portunity to increase their under-standing and/or effectiveness in communication skills, group proc-esses, managerial skills, self-awareness and human relations. Students will take on leadership roles on projects within the school and the community. |
This course is designed to strengthen and deepen the leader-leadership school setting and be-yond as the commence with life in the greater community. The program makes three very important assump-tions regarding leadership: first, within every individual student exists leadership potential; second, leadership can be taught and there-fore learned; and third, students can develop their own unique leadership style and philosophy and learn to ap-ply their leadership skills to provide a positive impact upon their school cul-ture and community. |
This capstone course allows students to earn up to one credit for services in their school or in the local community. It empowers students to become per-sonally and socially responsible citi-zens. Through experience-based learning and service to others, they gain the knowledge and skills neces-sary to make positive contributions at school, at home, in the community and in the world of work. Students are asked to keep a journal of their service experiences. A culminating project is required in order to complete the course. |
