NCLB Choice Deadline Friday, August 28, 2010.

Important information for parents whose children are eligible for NCLB Public School Choice and/or Supplemental Education Services:
your choice must be turned in to the

Central Office by 5:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28

Eligible students are those enrolled in MNPS schools that receive Title 1 funding and have been identified as high priority by No Child Left Behind guidelines. For more information, including a list of schools identified as High Priority, please

visit www.mnps.org, call the Customer Service Center at 259-INFO (4636), or contact your child’s school.

Title I funds are designated to provide additional academic support and learning opportunities to help low-achieving children meet state standards in core academic subjects and master challenging curricula.

For example:
  • Extra instruction in reading and mathematics
  • Preschool, after-school, and summer programs to extend and reinforce the regular school curriculum.

Title II funds are designated to provide professional development for teachers and staff.
